The annual meeting of the Littler Eaton Glickel Society took place on April 22-23. It was the first meeting of the group since the pandemic began. Twenty-five members and their guests came from around the country to New York where they all trained in Hand Surgery with J. William Littler, MD, Richard Eaton, MD and Steven Glickel, MD, O. Alton Barron, MD, and Louis Catalano III, MD at the St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center. That Hand Surgery Fellowship is the longest-standing program of its kind in the United States.
Members heard the 34th Annual Bradford Eaton Memorial Lecture given by Matthew Malerich, MD entitled “The Roosevelt Wrist Experience” on April 22 followed by an outstanding dinner at the Cosmopolitan Club where the accompanying picture of the group was taken. On the morning of April 23, there was a scientific session where members of the Society presented papers on their current work.
The entire weekend was highly educational, very collegial and a true testimonial to the legacy created by Drs. Littler and Eaton and perpetuated by Drs. Glickel, Barron, Catalano, and all of the members of the Society, many of whom are leaders in the field of hand surgery.
